how has your bass fishn gone this year?
 

well its august school has started up which means my "heavy" bass fishing is pretty much over cause i dont have time...... here's what i caught my fish on....

my lure of the year...
storm sub wart...... shallow wiggle wart... blue with an orange belly... dives no more than a foot. caught LOTS of bass on this bait. caught 3 keepers in a tourney at truman lake. nothing huge..... mostly 15-16 inch keepers. good bait when you are wanting suspended fish.

caught my biggest bass ever (6 lbs) in the middle of june on this baby. i think i only caught 3 bass on it this year but one was a biggen! looks good don't fish it much due to it not catching alot but hey it caught me the big one!

my consistent fishing bait of the year...
i fished a rebel wee-r again... firetiger in color. this has become my favorite bass bait. i caught LOTS of bass (probably as many as the storm sub wart) this bait caught me a 3 1/2 lb. bass (2nd biggest bass of my summer) and several around that 2 1/2 lb. range. like i said my favorite bait due to its nice 3 to 5 foot depth.

my surprise baits of the year...
french fry worm! i ran out of power bait. so i switched to a french fry worm and caught LOTS of bass on them. i would've had a few 3 or 4 lbers on them but i went into a landing slump for about a week (big bummer). caught me lots of medium sized fish (13 inches) and i hooked lots of big ones but kept losing them.

jig and craw...
this is one bait i wanted to learn how to fish this year and finally i cuaght fish on it. i was fishing in smithville lake and my grandpa gave me one. i fished that thing to death and never cuaght anything on it until that evening. i finally cuaght 2 fish and i think one was a keeper. i ended up taking this to a river down in central missouri somewhere and flipped the "enkins jig" into fallen brush in the river. this fish caught me lots of kentucky bass and some goggle eye. later in july i fished this in heavy moss (algea) and hooked a 4 lb bass but lost it at the boat (again during my landing slump)

dissapointing baits of the year..
spinner bait... i think i caught 1 or 2 fish on a spinner bait this year. the last 2 years this bait just hasn't caught me anything hardly.

anything top water. just haven't caught many bass on top water. i rather go a foot down and catch them..


and that's pretty much all i gotta say for this year. if i didn't go into that BIG LANDING SLUMP in early july i would've had several more 3 and 4 pounders in the boat..... oh well ....... happy fishing... anyone have any bass reports?

didnt do much bass fishing this year....even in late june i was tryin to catch trout in a lake that has both..shoulda tryed for bass never did catch a few trout for the smoker(thats why i messed around for trout) i went from trout straigh into night fishing for cats...did catch a nice smallie on a minnow at the river and a few bass on my fly rod at a freinds pond up north...and one tryion to catch gills for cat bait...bout it for my bass..but i caught alot more cats then i used to in other summres..

Hot and cold. I landed 23 fish over 14", which for the areas I mostly fish is really good. There are tons of bass but they don't normally get real big. On the other hand I did catch 2 of the biggest bass in about 10 years for me. A 19.5" smallie, and a 20.5" LM. This was all done in 12-15 trips.

Oh yea, my most productive baits were live crayfish, and a small Rapala. I just started getting into tube baits and have been catching some on them.

I haven't done well at all. I haven't been able to hit the water more than four or five times, got skunked three times. Dad's been lighting 'em up. He has two citation bass so far, and several just a fraction off. He caught everything on crankbaits, no luck with the spinners here either. Must be the weather (at least that's what I keep telling myself) Of course, I might not have been holding my tounge just right.

not good,the water was to low and the green slime build up was bad.

Ive been out 2 times this year landing 17 large mouth. Most of my fihsing is for cats and crappie. Although I haven't had alot of luck w/ crappie this year but the cat fishing is GREAT!

smallmouth fishin been damn good.caught 20 in two weeks.fishin with rebel crawdads and rapala husky jerks.

I think i was most succseful with the spinnerbaits. I caught a lot of fish on it this year. i caught a 3 pounder on a little lure to. well i am a fisherman would thinks all my lures are good.

Had a good year for Small Mouth bass. Caught many in the 16 to 18 inch range. Most all of the Bass I caught was on Lindy Rigs with Night Crawlers. Did almost all of my fishing this year with live bait. Minnows crawlers and leeches. I did no large mouth fishing at all this year. They are not real common here as the small mouth is. I was going to go south a ways to some great large mouth lakes this year but the weather there was awful hot and dry. Just couldn,t get primed up to go.
