RE: New Fishing Reel
PSE I bought a Zebco #33 yesterday, used it today and had a great time with it. The biggest largemouth I caught was 4lbs 12oz. I can cast 35 yds with it and "flip" 25 yds with it. It's on a 6'6" med. action rod.
I was so impressed with it I went back to the store and bought another one and another pole to put it on. I'm regressing in my old age. Instead of buying fancy, expensive rods and reels I've gone to the cheap but very effective ones. I sure am having fun! The #33 has been redesigned and it's nice, and only $14.95. That makes it almost disposable. Good luck. critch |

PSE I forgot to tell you that my spinning reels are Mitchell 300's. I have two that are 30+ years old. Two of them are only 1 year old. They're work horses and won't let you down.
I can't use a bait casting reel. I'm not coordinated enough. Good fishin' to ya. critch |
RE: New Fishing Reel
pse it really depends on what you plan on doing the most with it. My fav is spinning setups for all around with a 6'6" or 7' light to medium rod and a shimano sedona 1000 reel with 6 or 8 lb line.

RE: New Fishing Reel
I will add a second vote for the Zebco 33. I now own 3 of them, and they have always been my favorite over the last 15 years or so.
