Big wild trout........flowing water.........dry flies don't hurt.

#2 would be river Smallmouth Bass, man are they a good time on a fly rod. It helps that I am fortunate to live minutes away from maybe the premier Smallmouth River in the world.

Muskies would have to be my favorite, but where i live they are far and few between. So I would have to say pickerel we got them here arond 25-30 inches like fighting little muskies.

Honorable mentions: Bass, channels, and carp

Mauser,
If you tied a 3lb Smallie to the tail of a 3lb catfish, the Smallmouth would take that catfish for the ride of it's life.[:-]

It would look like somebody skipping a rock across the water.

Some people are lucky enough to live out west and they can hunt elk every year and I'm lucky enough to live in the north east so I can fish giant bluefin tuna every year!
Tie your smally and catfish to his tail

Pace Maker.......well that's not fair.
I'm not sure I'd tie a giant bluefin tuna to the trailer hitch of my 4cyl. Nissan Pickup truck pointing the other direction?

LOL bet it would be quite a battle!!

Let's remember we're talking about pound for pound. If you compare apples to apples Mr. smallmouth holds up to anything (pound for pound)

That's like putting a featherweight in the ring with Lennox Lewis.

Have to put my vote in for native trout for my favorite. Caught 17 sunday on my 3# rod one right at 4lbs. Nothing like a big native rainbow in these fast flowing mountian streams on a light weight fly rod.
