first fish in hand......
 

well last weekend i went troutfishing a stream they stock....fishing for last years stockers.....had 1 sat and one sunday....missed the rest or they got off before i got them in.....the one saturday i got in the shallows and was about to bend down for him and he spit the hooks......the one sunday i reeled up out of the water to me and he fell off before i got him him in my hand...well saturday i finally got some in hand.......3 rainbow trout....at a lake open to fishing during march they stock.....first one was 12 2nd was 14 or so and the last one was nice....a 16 17 incher...nice and fat......beutiful fish.....colors are alot brighter then the fresh stocker....nice green backs and nice pink lines.....and i caught one sunday before the rain sent me home.....they are bighting softly because its so cold and they are sluggish..the ice just melted a day or 2 before.....so whats your first fish of the year????? just a thread to pass the winter blues........

i still have yet to get my first fish this year....sad sad sad.... I fished quite a bit at christmas time when i had a few eeks off and did really well. Since then i have gone twice and have gotten skunked both times. Hopefully i get out again ice fishing, we only have till end of the month then the season closes. I am headed back home this weeekend but will probably be to busy with the calving season to make it out on the ice. For the last few years i had fished on weekends and even after class while i was in university but the lake i was fishin had a bad winter kill and it really hasn't been the same so i don't even bother going now while i'm at university.
