Brown Trout pics
Let's see some pics of Browns.
This one is no monster by any means for the Lake I fish, but it's about the only one I could dig up. ![]() |
RE: Brown Trout pics
What were you running behind that dipsy diver?
Kinda bummed thought it was going to be another picture of your wife. You do have nice legs, big fella. |
RE: Brown Trout pics
lol. Yeah those farmer tan legs get the chicks everytime. I was running a flatfish (chartruse green) 3.5 inches long. One of the new glow in the dark jobs by Yakima baits. Absolutely deadly.

They have a very nice motion. The lure,ok.

RE: Brown Trout pics
Wow, great fish! We don't grow em that big around here!

RE: Brown Trout pics
That's a great looking trout. Let me guess 5 pounds?
Colouration looks like a lake fish. (Not to mention the water in the background.) Attached a picture of a nice high country Jack we caught just before christmas. About 7 or 8 pound. Thanks for sharing your photo. ![]() |

Thats a beauty Clark!!!

RE: Brown Trout pics
Tim - yes he was a Lake fish caught trolling. Just under 6#. Decent brown, but I've pulled them out of that lake behind me 15- 18 lbs. before.

RE: Brown Trout pics
Wow 15-18 ounds is an awesome brownie, I had no idea they got that big in the USA.
Have you got pictures to share, I'd be real interested to see them. I've been out two days ago, guiding an American guy, caught 6 Browns and two king Salmon. (All on fly.) And lost a few more. The browns were 3-5 pound, and taken on Dry/Nymph combinations. I'll get some pictures on this board, once I have my films developed. |
RE: Brown Trout pics
Apologies for the low resolution photo, haven't quite figured how to improve the quality and keep the file size small enough to submit on this board.

RE: Brown Trout pics
Wow another Kiwi, or maybe you're turned Aussie nowadays, don't blame you the way we play Rugby lately.
Was in Southland this week, doing a big 4WD trip. Waikaia-Roxborough-Duntroon. Great trip. Regards |

Tim,
Nice photos. You folks are lucky to have some awesome looking country down there. Here in Boise we have brown trout in the river which runs through town, they have been caught up to 20lbs. My largest is a 5 pounder. Nice looking fish, great colors. Here in Idaho we concentrate on the steelhead and Salmon. The runs have been good the last couple years, with steelhead up to 20lbs and salmon up to 40lbs. The Salmon River which runs through the middle of Idaho is the main fishing river. I don't get up there much as I spend my winters hunting for coyotes mainly and catching up on my honeydos from being gone all the time during the fall off on hunting trips. Keep the photos coming! |

RE: Brown Trout pics
Tim,
I am jealous of you lads down there, but we have a few nice spring creek browns of our own........;) This is one of my better ones. I never did put a tape to him before releasing, but I'd guess a solid 25" and probably 6 lbs. (Not sure if it's of any reference but I'm 6'3" tall) Caught on an 8 ft #4 Winston IM6 and a Shenk's Black Sculpin. You should have seen the bend in that little rod.....side-pressure!!![:-]:D |

nice one matt

RE: Brown Trout pics
goood Trout !

RE: Brown Trout pics
Great fish on a 4 weight rod Matt. I got 2 26" rainbows one day on my 3 weight but only because I was in one of the few slow moving rivers around here. Most of the mountian streams around here run so fast if you get a fish that size on a light weight rod not much chance to keep up

RE: Brown Trout pics
Thats a huge brown trout so I wonder what type of flies did you use dry or wet flies.
