Saltwater - 36lb striper on a umbrella rig

Freshwater - 30lb flathead cat on a live redbreast

Biggest Bass are a 10lb 4oz largemouth on a lizzard carolina rigged and a 6lb 4oz smallmouth on a 3in smoke power grub.

Biggest salmon was a 42" King on a J Plug never got a weight. I would love to catch a big one on a fly rod, but since I live in the south, I take what I can get when I sneek up to the great lakes.

Where can you shoot pike with a bow? That would be kinda fun.
I was wondering that myself! Here in Minnesota, I bowfish ALL the time. But it's illegal as hell to shoot any game fish with your bow. But I've shot huge carp, longnose gar, sheephead, dogfish, and bullheads. The biggest carp I ever shot was just under 40 pounds. The biggest fish I ever caught though... hmmm, I dunno, I never bring my damn scale along! I always forget the stinkin' thing and never weigh my fish. Doesn't matter though... the fish always get bigger with time, whether you have a scale or not;)

I read an article in field and stream a few years ago about some folks on Lake Champlain in VT who shoot pike with Rifles in the spring. It was a tradition and there was some rationale behind it. It may have since been outlawed. They took 7foot step ladders into the shallows where the fish spawned and picked them off with highpowered rifles. If you ask me, that is dangerous as crap, but to each their own.

I have never heard of bowfishing for Pike, but I did hear the same about shooting them with rifles that ElCid05 did. It really sounds stupid to me, why would you want to shoot spawning gamefish with rifles for one, you cant catch and release for two, and what about falling with a rifle or bullets being deflected????
