Broken Fly Rod Tip

1 Attachment(s)
I'm surprised I haven't done this sooner. The other day I got careless and snapped about 2 inches off of the tip of my favorite 3 wt. fly rod. Any thoughts on how I can salvage the rod? Never had to deal with this before.

Thanks in advance.

I'd love to know what you come up with..I've gotten blessed ..picked up a split bamboo NEW IN TUBE 1941 at yard sale 15.00 I hope I don;t break it..I'm very new at fly fishing ..Looked at some tutoring videos yesterday ...Glad to learn about the welded loop that comes on line..Ordered some yesterday..plan to just use floro for the leader..just doing bluegills...I guess you need to find another end piece...feel for ya..very sad

Chuck,

Got careless putting the rod pieces back in the tube. That old saying "if it don't fit, force it" doesn't work for a 3 wt graphite rod. Good luck with adventures into fly fishing. Orvis makes some good videos for beginners. I got one for my daughter to watch (unfortunately never caught on) and learned a lot of new things. Just a suggestion.

I broke the tip off a flyrod several years ago, I bought a new tip that was a larger inside diameter and put it on with superglue., I am still using the rod.
