Got the kids out to the pond yesterday. They had a good time.

Sharing some photos

Nothing better than hungry bluegills to provide fun for kids.

The kids like to eat their fish. So each time we go I pull a couple for eating.

But for some reason I just hate cleaning fish. Small game and deer are easy. Cleaning fish is something I don't look forward to.

I've been trying different methods from you tube. My favorite way is just to scale them, gut them, cut the head off and cook whole. Then sort through the bones before giving it to the kids. But them rotten scales go everywhere.

That’s awesome! Nothing better than watching the young ones catching some fish. Knowing that they are helping to put food on the table is all the better. Up here I think it’s more of a northern thing that most of us pass on the sunnies. Mostly white perch and the last keg that we fillet out. Nice photos by the way. Here we can’t get to the water without a boat or canoe as our water is so damn high right now from all the rain.

This not my house but you can get the idea and more rain coming tonight and tomorrow..

Fillet them. No scales, no bones and less mess. Problem solved.

That's what I did with these ones flags.

I'll do it again. It was working alright by the time I got to the third fish.

I've always done filets on larger fish. But blue gills are a little trickier. But it worked alright and I was getting most of the meat by the end
