White Bass

Good Morning All,

I am returning to this forum, which I originally joined back in 2003 while on a military deployment. Hope to ask for any illumination regarding lures and recipes for White Bass in the Nueces River. The trip will be next week, starting Wednesday. I'll be fishing on private land from the bank with ultra-light spinning tackle. (If the river is not completely flooded).

Thanks,
Kelley

Welcome back.....Are you taking about Crappie?

CatfishKelley 01-21-2017 03:03 AM

Not Crappie. Some might call them sand bass. They run up rivers to spawn, and we are hoping to catch them as they come up the Nueces River. Since my first post, I've been told that anything white, chartreuse or flashy will get bit. If successful, was gonna try fish tacos. Saute'ed filets, lemon, butter, garlic, Lea & Perrins, cilantro, sliced avocado, etc.

Don't know anything about the Nueces but I catch a lot of them on Richland Cambers Lake east of Corsicana TX. They tear silver Kastmasters up.

Thanks. I've been looking for an excuse buy more tackle.
