Default Lure and Leader making tips.

Here are a number of videos I've done over the years on building my own wire fishing lures and leaders. There is nothing more fun than catching a fish on the lure you made. Good Fishin!

Will, I make all of my leaders. I don't trust the store buys at all. I have lots of spools of cable and solid and I also run leader wire off of my treble hooks and thread my bait with a large needle that I made for that specific purpose.. I then run a 15" leader off the wire on the treble. I have found a couple times that 24" of leader is a little short on the 30# plus pike and musky if they grab the bait and swallow it. Three or four rolls, and the leader wire is wrapped around their jaws, and the line is wrapped as well. Haven't lost one yet because of that scenario but always cut and retie after that happens. If using big plugs or spoons and losing a few because of them teeth getting to the line, I tend to make em a little longer.

Thank You redgreen. That's good to hear and good information for anyone getting into fishing or just wanting to get started making their own leaders. Good stuff.
