New Spinning Rod

I have been thinking about getting a new spinning rod and reel. Here are a few that I have been looking at. Tell me what you think. I was kind of leaning towards the 6'6" ultra light on either rod.

I wanted it for crappie/bluegill. I was just wanting some opinions on what the best rod would be. Or if a lightweight rod would be a better choice than the ultra light. I have a couple ultra lights but they are all 5'6" or shorter.

That is totally up to you my friend,..either one would be fine for bluegill and crappie..or even a big bass if played right...

I got a nice Lews off of ebay last month..very nice rod..i generally find what i want..and then get it off ebay.

I prefer longer rods for Bluegill and Crappie fishing. I try to look for 8'0 or 8'6" rod while bluegill or crappie fishing. St. Croix makes a good panfish series. I tend to go with the light action rods.

The longer rod really helps with casting if you are fishing deep with a bobber or with light line. I prefer to finesse fish while fishing panfish. This means very light line and subtle presentations.

Also, the longer rod is a blast while fighting quality panfish and a good bluegill can feel like a freight train!

The 8' and 9' selection would be great choices.

I prefer light action as well...those long rods are kind of hard to find...Most in Walmart are 5'6"". ..i have seen some good ones on ebay..i just bought a Lews Stick ...said it was Light action...sure feels like ultra light to me... I caught a 61/2 pound bass a couple months ago on light tackle...that is a trip.
