Default Salmon fishing in Michigan

Anyone been fished for king salmon in Michigan?
My brother and dad and a few of my uncles went up to Michigan last year for a week during the salmon run and had great success. Unfortunately, I got left behind because of college. I hope to be able to go this year and hook into some big kings.
Here are a few pics from my family's trip last fall.

Here is a 6.5 pound brown my brother caught.

Nice fish for sure.. It also looks like some nice country out there..

Here I fish for Landlocks that normally do not get nearly as big. We do have some great Atlantics here. But, they are off limits and if you so happen to catch one you need to unhook while it is in the water. If not you could receive up to 6 months in jail just for taking it out of the water. So they are off my to do lists.. I used to catch a few of them when we could however. Good fighters just like our smallmouths always jumping out of the water for us. Just a lot bigger that is all.

I hope to someday convince a couple of co-workers to take a trip to upstate New York to catch a few large salmon or steelheads though. I see all these picks of those large fish and it gets my blood boiling wanting to try to get 1 or 2 of them..
