Default Fish: 1, Us: Zero

It was free state park/fishing weekend, so we took the canoe out to Lake Alvin and fished the shoreline and some debris piles for bass, fished the shallows for a bit then tried some drop-off areas for walleye.

We tried jigs, crawlers, floating minnows, spinners... to no avail.

What's worse is, in a canoe, I have access to a few places where regular boats can't reach. I should have been nailing them.

Anyway, the wife was bored by about the 5th cast, but it would have helped if we had any luck at all. I didn't see anyone else boating anything except a few carp, so I guess it was just a bad day for fishing.

Yeah, that's it.

On the other hand, we had a great time just tooling around in the canoe, which is better than sitting inside by a long shot.
