I just use the classic "Here Fishy Fishy Fishy"
It works...
But to heck with line, if that's what you chose to use.
Go straight to winch cable and don't look back, never now when you might hook onto that Lochness monster.
It's happened..
Don't forget the guy who was fishing the St Lawrence and hooked onto that Greenland Shark.Good thing for him he decided to switch to down rigger cable.
First Time they realized they ventured into fresh water..
Last year myself I hunted mostly rabbits with a .375 Elephant Gun cause you don't want to be toting around a .22 hunting them, when that one and only Angry White Rhino decides to charge you eh.
But back to point.
Call em in..It works.
Saves you so much money.
Saw it on Seamee Street, 1000 times over.
Done by a Puppet at that.

Thanks for the great tips! Caring for your line is probably more about lacking laziness than anything. We get in a hurry, racing from spot to spot, and we often just try to get our rods strapped and ready to run as quickly as possible. Those few seconds of haste can really damage your line and cause a weak link in the chain between you and the fish.
