Default Rough Weekend Weather-wise

Weather across the nation has been pretty wild this week. The past few days temperatures have dropped dramatically, great deal of precipitation has fallen and the fronts have the fish shut down. Found a few things to keep me busy...

Finished another rod a while back




Many trailer hooks


Some flies


And jigs...


And turned a few bobbers on the lathe.

Wow..love the guides on the rods,,wished I lived closer ..my Team Diawa needs new guides

The lures and hackles are very nice too.

Is there an easy way..or does every guide have to be threaded on...I mean is there a new guide system that gan be taped on ?

As far as I am aware of, every rod in production (traditional fishing rod) is still tied with thread, even the big box, large scale production facilities.

I'm digging the flies! Looks like some sort of griffith's gnat. What do you target with them mainly?

Those are spawning Steelhead flies for my purposes. Don't have a clue what they are called, but they certainly work!

So Buck..those 2 colored threads that you see in the stores on some rods..are actually one thread with two different colors in it ?

I don't know if I am understanding your question 100% accurately, but you wrap the thread colors seperately. I began with one color, say gold, then leave a tag of brown. I make my gold wrap and then cinch it to end it, and began my brown wrapvia the tag end.

Not easily explained over the internet.
