River question?

It's been in the 30's all week but now it's going to be 50 today do you think I will catch any carp or catfish?

Don,t know...I,ve got very little experience...

I did use to fish a nice sized creek though and if my memory serves me right..that is prime time to catch Northern Suckers which are fine eating. I used to catch European Carp in the summer time with either dough balls or night crawlers....in a river. ..they are very fun to catch..long side to side runs.

Sorry I was of no help..just wanted to show support with a reply.(-;

I assume not, those species of fish need alot of warm water, have a much slower metabolism.

all fish eat all winter long. They have to. they cant just shut off their heart/gills/etc, and they all require food. The hard part is finding where they winter - usually in deep, slow moving holes, with logs/cover. they wont swim far or fast after a bait, but if something hits them in the face, they'll eat.

Don't know how 1 warm day will affect water temps down below, but their feeding does pick up as temps warm, they won't be up to speed to feed on moving fish/bait, but will feed on whatever comes their way.
Dead bait drifting on the bottom is what I would start with
