Got a nice one today..
I thought I was hung up on a sand bar..{ Where we fished Gangly} as I pulled hard to break free..the fight with this stocky fish was on...I was using 10 pound mono..so it was a long fight.
She's 5 1/2 pounds.  two others I got pitching..   |
This all came right before a cold front...temps are61. Will be 31 tonight..I knew the low pressure was coming so I fished Friday evening and Sat . Morning.Even with a bad moon the fish were preparing for the cold.Wind was very strong....BigBen7was fishing with me as well. He struck out.

Gangly..I was in the back pit..the first place we went. I had my neighbor with me so I mostly drifted to make it fair for him ...instead of a lot of pitching whereas the man in the front of the boat has the Dvantage.
' The wind was blowing hard from the west ..which is best ...we were drifting out of the deep And over sandbars..I had about 15 yds of line out and my line went thump!.....it didn't move so I thought oh no I'm hung up..which was happening anyways. I rr reared back to get unstuck and my rod bent double...and I felt something tugging on it. Then lo and behold Bertha leaped up like a tarpon. KEvin shouts you have a ten pounder ...I said no its a five 1/2...and hoping for a six lol. She ran hard about 6 times..took a while .I pushed the button many times and thumb dragged her.ten pound trilene ...I was being very careful..I. Was thappy when she was netted...I can't imagine what a ten poundermust feel like. Should be a good tourney this year..I plan to fish a lot as I plan to get into much quiet time this year...I want God to have my whole heart.. God bless, C7 |
