Fishing IN Alaska

I am going to Alaska soon and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any charters or have any tips for lures for Halibut and salmon near the Anchorage/Seward/Homer area?

RE: Fishing IN Alaska

Little Jake, I too am going to Alaska but not until next summer. Goal is Salmon and Halibut as well. I' m going to Juneau or Ketchikan so the distance is shorter than Anchorage. I' ll be driving my pick up truck and taking a couple guys along.

I have so many questions...such as does it make sense to take my own boat? It' s a 16 foot wise hull aluminum.

What is the best time to go...I have two weeks to do this in.

Can I camp in a tent there or is it dangerous?

What is the limit of salmon and Halibut?....I' ve heard that one can bring back coolers of filets!
