What Fall is All About [pics]
Well, I have only went deer hunting once this year because fishing has just been to good. A new spot I fish I do no bring my camera with my because it is wading in a very large river system. I have put up incredible numbers here and double digit days are the norm on Chinook and Coho Salmon, with Steelhead mixed in. Massive runs of fish this year, both in size of runs and quality of fish. Good sign for the future, gopefully. The following is a small preview of the fishing over the past few weeks. Enjoy, I sure did.

Excellent combination, althought even some of these fish are able to spool or break the line. I have kept my fair share of fish this year, although I give a large majority of the meat away. I keep them because I need the eggs to fish with. I assure you, none of the meat ever goes to waste. A majority of the fish pictured I released, although there were plenty no pictured that went in the cooler. This year has been a spectacular run of fish size-wise. The largest fish we put in the boat this fall was 27 lbs, and a few pictured there are easily in the low to mid 20s. The fish with the very large, thick shoulders really put on the pounds. It has been a trip attempting to land a majority of these fish, and fortunately I have done extreme well this fall. |
Nice pics. Always great to see reports from people fishing for fish we don't get to fish for down here! Of course, sometimes it drives me crazy because I want to catch a big steelhead and salmon!

WOW!! that is some very heavy fish..must be a serious blast.I've never caught nothing that big..one catfish up to 15 pounds..but a 20 plus salmon must be awesome to catch.
Good deal on food too as salmon is quite expensive down here and by the time it hit's our stores the meat is not that hot.. |
