Salmon fishing has been going very well on the east side of Lake MI. Many limit catches and big fish reported.

Your best bet is to troll spoons, j-plugs, and flys at 2.4 + or - mph. Spoons are generally the best bait of choice.

Look for charter reports, they can often give a lot of information about depth, location, color, etc.

good luck

Things are a little behind around here but I have been hearing a lot of reports that the bite is starting to turn on. As buckhunter said flasher/fly combinations, j plugs and spoons are the main lure choices paired with dipsys and downriggers usually. Guys catch them in large numbers out of almost all ports around here. Sturgeon Bay, Kewaunee and places like Egg Harbor in Door County are good bets.

well boys the weather has not been good for the bite apparently, the salmon did not move up when i went, i was on washington island so the west side and well nobody was catching anything, i was lucky to catch a nice 20 pounder, my first salmon ever. It put up a helluva fight it took me 20 minutes to get her in.

Any pictures? I'm assuming it was a Chinook (King)? What did you catch it on? What FOW and how far down?
