Fun afternoon with my boys
 

Been fishing this lake hard this year for walleye and have been doing ok. In about a 4 hr evening trip been averaging 5-10 eyes and getting 3-4 keepers, but its a lot of work.
This afternoon decided to change gears a bit, take my kids and my bro-in-law (for backup), hit a shallow bay and try drifting for some perch and maybe a smallmouth with some leeches and worms. Well didn't find them any little perch to play with but in about 2 hrs time they ended up boating 9 walleye, lost 3 or 4, and broke off what i figure were a couple descent smallies. They also took their butterfly net with them and had an absolute ball pulling in fish and scoopin em up in their net. They were all small, only 3 keepers but sure put up a good fight for them on their little rods. Turned out to be a very cool trip out for all of us.

Congrats to your young fellas! It is great to take the young ones out fishing.. You can tell by the smiles that they enjoyed it well.. I will be taking my grandson out once the white perch get hitting good. I can't wait for him to start catching some fish..
