what river, and what state/region?
It would be northeast pa. The local squahanna. Maybe the delaware river water gap
no don't need no bayliner I don't care were you are fishing
I agree !!! No to the Bayliner!! I had one once and never again and yes it was the Capri.. It had a force engine and that engine was nothing but junk..
So like a 14foot aluminum boat would be sufficient?
depending on your budget, its hard to beat a 16 to 17 ft aluminum xpress/g3,fisher, etc with a 90/65 jet. a 14 ft aluminum with a 9.9 - 25 hp outboard and 24 volt 70+ lb trolling motor would also be sufficient.

I have fished the Susquehana when in Maryland..I beleive that river starts in PA...as it flows down in Maryland it is quite wide and in my area a 14 would NOT be sufficient as the river was right below the Conowingo Dam..extremely swift rapids..but probably in your neck of the woods it would be fine..In Mayrland that river is aobut 1 mile wide ..very rocky and very swift.
Here is the dam with the flood gates open..A 14 foot would be in trouble.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pigob5SnUfE |
Nice video of dam, wouldn't be anywhere near that rough up here. And if I fish. Deleware it would be above that. Dam. Thanks. Would a deep v or flat bottom b better?
if your dead set on a jon,id get a flat bottom, and try to find a small jet motor. 25/20 hp or so. ive fished the susqy, and in the summer, its jet or kayak only basically, if you want to be able to move around.
