My grandfather used to live in PA..he was a magor influence on me hunting. He lived in Lancaster County in Coatsville. I use to hunt ground hogs and pheasants up there. He was 30 miles from our house. I lived in Elkton ,MD. on the eastern shore.

I found alot of my fishing spots from a big magazine called Fishing in Maryland. It had maps and places on the maps where the fish were. This was back in 1970. I started fishing in 1960. I was 6 years old and got a Heddon Pal metal tackle box and Heddon Pal baitcaster reel for my birthday. The out fit propably cost 5.00 new. I wish I still had it.It goes for much more on ebay.LOL Of course I couldn't cast the darn thing..I ended up tying the nylon string to a long stick and catching gills along a local creek.

If it is as wide as Chuck has mentioned I would have a deep 14 foot aluminum as the wind can come up without notice. Rough waters can be hard for a low sided boat. But I am not from your area and not exactly sure of what you would be dealing with. Good Luck with what you decide on.

i have a 14 foot with a 9.9hp
i want a 16 foot with a flat bottom and a 25-30hp jet

in the summer the water levels are low and hard to go far
i would say to get a 14-16 foot flat bottom with a jet motor
prop motors will get chewed up

how far are you from 3 mile island? Ive fished the susqy there, and id wade fish before I'd take anything there other than a jet.
