I am not sure about it in your area but, up this way a few use chunks of makeral while others use eels. Also top water poppers or large rapalas will work sometimes as well. Good Luck to you and welcome to the forums.

My favorite baits for stripers is a sassy shad, just match the hatch

Stripers at Raystown are very spooky and don't tolerate boat traffic very well....not even trolling motors. The last that I heard the "preferred" way of catching the big boys is to drift using a hatchery raised/baitshop purchased trout deep under a bobber/float. If trolling for them use planers or dipsey divers to kick the lures out to the side and you may get a few as they swim away from the boat noise.

Local bait shops should be a good source of current information....mine is several years old.

Raystown is VERY deep, very clear, and very well used by boaters. Ive caught a few stripers by accident at the mouths of coves, fishing the channel bends in 40+' of water, which is basically 80% of the lake. Lots of good largemouth and smallmouth in there too, just got a little shallower and fish the rock bluffs
