GOOD TRIP
My wife and I went up to Devils Lake ND the other day 07-25. We had our limit of Walleye in about 3 hours. Most were in the 2-3 lb range. Just right for eating. We spent the rest of the day chasing Pike and white bass. We got some dandy white bass of 3-4 lbs and a few northern. The pike were not very big but we were just casting shad raps in pretty shallow water and the bigger pike have gone deeper with the water temps up in the low 70' s. In the process of catching the other fish we caught another 20 or so walleyes. You can' t upgrade your live well in ND so that part was catch and release. Devils lake has grown to 125000 acres in the last eight years with hundreds of thousands of acres of flooded timber roads buildings.

RE: GOOD TRIP
James-
I will be in your neck of the woods (Cooperstown area actually) in the middle of October for some duck hunting. Was wondering how the water levels on the potholes are this year? Have you been seeing many birds this summer? Anything else you can tell me about conditions? Thanks in advance! |
RE: GOOD TRIP
The pot holes are in great shape. We have had a ton of rain this summer. I have not seen a lot of birds but they are expecting a good number of ducks again this year. North of Jamestown has had even more rain.
