portable fish finders

What is a good fish finder, i have a small john boat that I use as well as one other guy uses it to so Im looking for a depth/fish finder that I can use when im using the boat and take it out when im not.

So I guess what do you guys use, im not looking for nothing fancy just water depth temp and if theres fish around. Ive never really used a fish finder before, I just throw the anchor over and say yup thats about 12 foot deep and so on.....

I use a Lowrance, that's about 12yrs old now. It does what I want it to. Tell me if there are fish under me, and how deep the water is.
Eagle makes a decent locater, as well.

I've tried 2 portables so far..and would not reccomend either..the new Hummingbird 1100 was great while it lasted..After the 5th time about..it stopped showing ANY fish..that is a bummer..I'm looking at a 105.00 Garmin...with an added 25.00 for a 3 year extended warranty..I will pay up to 300.00 for one but want one that is simple..

Depth
Temperature
Differnt Fish sizes/alarm
Good bottom line feature
Decent structure

That's it..

I have the Humminbird 570. Bought it last year so i've only got about 20-30 times out with it. So far it's a great unit for the price and what I use it for. It shows me the weeds, depth, water temp, and it's dual beam. I have it attached to the trolling motor on my Gheenoe.

POrtable fish finders. You need something like Deeper Smart Sonar. It is probably the most portable but problem is connectivity once the transducer gets further away from the boat. Because it is operating on Wifi
