My best combo is not my most expensive...but I have one rod and reel that is my confidence outfit..
It's a 50.00 Team Diawa 6 1/2 foot spinning medium heavy one piece rod..
I like the black rod and gold trim..My reel has gold trim so it looks top shelf..
The rod is sturdy and very sensitive yet the tip is fast enough to fish a Rooster tail inline spinner..It's my main rod no matter what lure I'm fising..all my other rods take the 2nd spot
The reel..a Symetre Shimano ...6.1 ratio

It has 2 spools..when I use spinnrbaits..I use the 12 pound mono spool.
For worming / nightfishing I use the 20 pound braid..no backlashes at night and cast a country mile.


Yes sir..been fishing for 50 years..this is the BEST rod and reel outfit I've ever had.

backbone..yep..I have no worries..small fish are fun and big ones even in weeds..just put her in 4 wheel drive..she's a muscle rod..that is semi light and very sensitive...feel? like a 200.00 tennis racket..totally balanced like it's part of your arm.{ -;

Right now, it has to be my Abu Garcia 5600 C4 reel (approximately $90), its just beautiful in my mind, with the dark blue body with deep gold accents. It has a fast retrieve that i prefer with my jigs and worms, and I have it attached to a $50 dollar Castaway MH rod. The rod has great backbone but a quick tip for sensitivity which I really like when jigging and worming. A combined total of $140 bucks, which is nothing for some people but was a lot for me at the time, and it handles better than many other much more expensive combos that I have held. I really love the round reel look, much more classic to me.

My favorite rod/reel combo is my Quantum Baitcaster Reels with a Shimano Convengence 10'6" Rod OR 7' Stafford Pig Stick.

I know I'm going against the game with naming two rods, but with the variety of fish rod length if everything.

Regardless, the reels are crisp, have unbelievable line intake rates, and super smooth drags. The rods can flip docks or run cranks for bass, float skien or run thundersticks for salmon and steelhead. Just thinking about it gets me pumped up!!!!

Only downside is each rod is quite heavy. Still looking for the wonder of a lite flippin' stick.

WOW ..lot's of Quantums today..I plan to get another but could not fin dmy model on ebay..not even the rod..they only had the rod in medium..I need a MH for our big girls..
