Color: Silver/Black, Silver/Blue, Bluegill, Perch, BabyBass, basicly any baitfish color Brand: Rattle Trap, Rapala, FLW Style: Suspending, Floating, Divers (2-5'),(10-15'),(20'-30') Plastics: Weight:Adjustable with sinkers Colors:Depends on type of lure Brand:FLW or Powerbait Styles: Lizards:4-6", Light Brown, Black, Black/Chartreuse Tail--Texas or Carolina rigged Crawdads:4-8", Brown, Brown/Orange claws, Black/Chartreuse claws--Weightless, Carolina, or Texas rigged Worms:4-12", same as crawdads plus Purple, Red, and Tomamto Core--Floating, weightless, Jighead, Texas, or Carolina rigged Jigs: Weight: 1/4oz.-1oz. Color: Black, Black/Blue, White, Brown, Brown/Red/Orange/Green Brand: No Preference I usually use a contrasting colored trailer to slow the fall rate, in cooler weather. Usually use no trailer in warm weather. Trim weed gaurds even with hookpoint and work them with fingers, to get some of the stifness out of them. I also trim the skirt right behind the hook. |
RE: basic bass tackle box????
I hope my wife does`nt see this! I don`t buy bass lures one at a time. I buy crankbaits, topwater plugs, spinners, and buzzbaits 5-10 at a time, of each color! Plastics, I buy 50 or 100 packs. I could easily buy a late model vehicle with what I have in tackle. I use it all, but probably use git-zits(tube baits) 50% of the time. These are just the basics, then you need the oddball stuff, too!
Hey, you just can`t put a price tag on having fun!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> Don`t even ask about rods & reels! If you were`nt supposed to have that much tackle, why does my Ranger have so many compartments? |
RE: basic bass tackle box????
i've never used tubes.. i gotta try it this summer.... whats the best way to fish it in missouri?
|
RE: basic bass tackle box????
Top water baits:
3 Devils horses 2 buz baits 1 pop "r" Crack baits: Only rattle traps, nothing else!!!! Plastic: 10 inch grape worms bags of lizards, 6 inch(pumpkin seed, green, taquilla sunrise) I mostly use pumpkin seed. I am real basic, I catch fish just about year round on lizards. In the hotter months I go from top to bottom, top in the early morning and middle at mid morning and bottom during the day and then work back up in the evening. |
RE: basic bass tackle box????
jjoel, I have yet to fish in missouri, but I am sure that a tube bait would work the same way in your state, as any other state. I tube bait is supposed to resemble a crawfish, so I always fish them on the bottom. Some times fast, sometimes slow. I always start out fishing them slow, then if I get no action, I start working it a little faster. I fish them pretty much the same way I would fish a rubber worm. I catch a ton of fish on them, but then, tubes are my confidence bait, so I use them alot.

RE: basic bass tackle box????
My bass box is pretty much plastic worms, tubes, hooks, spinner baits, bullet sinker, and some glass beads. That's everything u need right there and it probably only costs me about $40 to buy everything, and I catch a lot of bass(when I want too).
