That's what I am saying there is nothing that works the best when fishing trout, at least the wild brookies up here. Although when the hatch is on there is absolutely nothing that compares to a good fly rod and dry flies. Matching the hatch will be nothing but positive.. I had tried a little early season brook fishing up here and have caught 3 decent size brookies but it is still s little early. My biggest was a 14 incher with 2, 10 inch trout. The biggest was caught on a nymph. As I have a 4 piece pack rod and it is easy to carry in and out with me..

if they are very recently stocked, purina makes a dog chow that has small nuggets, and arent very water soluable. They take work to get on a hook without breaking apart, but if you are careful and cast gently, its about as easy as it gets.

I have been out trying my luck on wild turkeys recently but no success.. I did take a fishing pole with me and limited out 4 days in a row on brookies.. Unfortunately I never took my fly rod with me though. The big trout were rising on flys steadly and wouldn't touch a worm at all. The brookies average around 10 inches and 5 a day is the limit on them out of brooks here. Cook some up last night for supper and were they tastety..
