Default Phosphate Pits

I fish in old Phosphate Mines at Saddle Creek Park. I was wondering if anyone else has had a chance to fish old phosphate mines and wanted to know what people thought of them and what they liked about them?

We have about a gajillion pits left over from strip mining on the western side of my state(In), most don't have fish, but many do. Most of the action is bluegill and crappie, but an occasional bass will hit your lure.
