Hammond/Tioga Reservoirs...

...in Tioga county Pa. Anybody here fish those bodies of water? I'm buying a house 2 miles from there, and would appreciate any info you folks are willing to surrender...types of fish, techniques, lures...etc. Thanks...Dave

The reservoirs provide some excellent warm water fishing...

I live just across the border in Addison, NY... While I have not fished the Tioga/Hammond/Cowanesque lakes a lot my self, I have friends that fish them exstensively...

My buddies fish mostly for panfish, notably BIG crappies , as well as yellow perch , bullheads, channel cats, etc.. They do very well, using mostly small plastics such as tube jigs.. In the spring, limit cathes of big crappies are the rule rather than the exception.. The bass fishing is also excellent for smallmouths and some largemouths.. There is a good population of tiger muskies and some walleyes, although by far the best walleye fishing is in the Tioga River downstream of the dams.... There are some hybrid strpers, but they seem to be more of an incidental catch than other species...

Walleyes in the Tioga river...I like the sounds of that!

That river gives up plenty of walleye. I've seen some pretty impressive catches at the outlet in Tioga to.
