i'm not that big into the "red" craze, but i like some, i chose hook "A" in a size 4

Gangly 08-04-2009 10:41 AM

what color is the rooster tail?

Chuck7 08-04-2009 10:44 AM

Aaron,
The Rooster before modified is on the bottom..a White 3/8 th..

I chose C..I expect thise white feathers to open up a bit...also in a # 4..The original is a # 6 and 60 % will get off unless you keep a tight line and have a net handy

I would choose A if it were me and dress it up with a blend of red and white maribou..

m.t. ..are my eyes playing tricks on me or is one of them treble hooks bigger than the other two?
I know you can buy trebles like that..

m.t.hands 08-04-2009 12:45 PM

after a second look at them they do appear larger, i use the x-calibur 4's on my baits, that picture is of the david fritts version, they may be a little different, they are a little higher, buy you a pack of the size "4" x-cal's, like i said before you can't walk by them W/O getting stuck,

they also appear to be a lot more durable:rock: than factory dressed hooks:s8:

the best ones i have ever seen were made by a guide on lake alltoona (mike bucca) he sold out ( to a company ) last time i spoke with him he mentioned that the man had passed and they are no longer available:s7:, he did give me the recipe but i don't need anymore hobbies:eek:
