RE: color selection / horny toad
They may..and they may not..
This morning I got in the ONE lure mood..where I try one lure regardless..i tied on a horny Toad. and fished the shoreline of my best spot and the grassy islands..
I had other obligatins so I was limited to fish between 6:00AM -8:00 AM
At 6:32 I had my first samcker boil up but fish let go...
7:20 I had a small smack boil up..did not take it..
7:25 I thought it was stuck in the grass..i think a turtle grabbed it..
SO..Horny failed me this morning...[8D]
Is it still my favorite?..yep.

I use horny toads quite often and i use watermelon reds mostly. I switched to ribbits recently because they have paddle feet and create more commotion on the water . You can get them at most sporting goods stores. Here is what they look like.

When a fish hits it and doesnt take it under let the lure fall because a lot of the time bass will hit it to stun it. When they do take it drop your rod wait 2 seconds the rip away.
Good Luck
