I dont really understand how you say they are biting it, usually they will engulf mine. Also, I cross their eyes when I set the hook, not a pull set, just a flat out, hard jerk, tryin to rip some lips off hookset.

OK...
I'm standing in the boat...I cast long into the hydrills..I twitch it to where it falls into a hole about 18 inches deep..I see a 12 inch bass come out to attack it..picks it up runs 12 inches and drops it.

Normally with a rubber bait they hold on to it..

sounds like the bass knows its not big enough to actually eat the bait, so its trying to play with it and kill it. try adding a small stinger treble hook if you can keep it from getting hung up.

Is this what you mean??
http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0039246319242a.shtml

you gave me an idea though Josh..one could attack a long skinny aberdeen hook to the worm hook that's already there and attach the pointy part into the rear into the tail of the fluke..that would work...

Shoot..for all that trouble one could simply by pass using the worm hook all together and thread your long shank aberdeen hook through the fluke and put the pointy part towards the rear of the body of the fluke.

Or try the Super Fluke Jr, same concept just easier for a 12 in bass to eat it. I usually have a lot of smaller bass attack it but I dont ever try to catch them really, kinda like the bigger bait bigger fish concept. Its exactly what Josh was saying though
