Kalvin, They are weedless. I fished these things through 3 foot thick weeds this morning..90 % of the time they came out clean..I was going to take a picture of one for ya..I had a 14 inch bass smothered in weeds..I was ising 10 pound Trilene clear..I got 2 .18 inchers..but this lure is totally weedless although it may not look like it.Anything smaller would be a beetle spin..;)

RE: Top 5?

For the small ponds back here I usually throw one of these in this particular order...

#1) Culprit Worm-7.5 in. Red Shad.
#2) Swimming Senko-Usually in a Watermelon or Pumpkin color fished with a 1/16 oz. weight SLOWLY.
#3) Tube-Again with a Watermelon color and 1/16 oz. weight
#4) Zara Spook-The ponds I fish are not very deep so a Spook is at times just the ticket to trigger a bite on a slow hot summer day.
#5) Spinnerbait-Usually only use a very small one in white or yellow.

However if I am going to a pond to just catch some fish NOTHING beats a bucket of minnows hooked up on a slip bobber. Everytime I will leave with more than enough crappie and always have a tangle with plenty of bass. However if I am going there just to bass fish then I usually always go down the list with the 5 I listed above.
