Bass Fishing Advice Needed...Please
I'm a complete novice when it comes to fishing. I can't even remember the last time I went, so I know it was quite a long time ago. However, in June I'm going to go bass fishing on Grand Lake in OklahomasoI could really use someadvice onfishing for largemouth bass.Tactics, gear, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Also, if anyone is familiar with Grand Lake, where are some good spots to fish?

Since your a newbie, Id go with a decent spinning rod or two. The AMP by Berkely is a good choice for you. Its around 30 dollars and will probably last you your fishing lifetime. Spinning reels are next, and some of the relatively cheaper Shimanos will do all you every want to. An ABU Garica Cardinal is also a good choice for you. I am going to guess that the lak is clear and tell you to go with 12 lb. Berkely Vanish or 10 lb. Suffix Seige.
I really cant help to much with the tackle choices around there, but Zoom Super Flukes in Smokin' Shad and Baby bass work well around here, as well as the Trick Worm. Crankbaits and carolina rigged worms.

I'd can agree with much but not all of Oneshot..[8D]
The garcia spincast reels are very nice..I'd get one ..not the tiny one but the next size up..30.00
I'd break down and get the 30.00 6 1/2 foot Lightning rod..medium action
This way you can fish any bass lure there is..
The line is where me and Oneshot and probably all of us will differ somewhat..
You will get to spools with your Garcia reel..
I'd fill one with 10 pound Trilene clear ..you can use any lure on here but the rubber worm..it will twist up your line.
I would put 15 pound Power Pro on the other reel..and use it for fishing around weeds ..rocks and strcture and when fishing the jig or rubber worm.
My best experiences for catching the most bass...
1. Rubber worm Texas Rig..I use a BB split shot instead of a bullet sinker..for a slow falling presentation
2. Spinner baits..inline Rooster Tails 3/8 ounce WHITE..or White weedless Strike King type..with a willow blade.

Here ya go..

It's just like I said..white spinner baits in the morning..rubber worm later..Looks like a great lake to get some serious action and big hawgs..
Most tournament guys want a lure they can cover alot of area ..fast ..the weedless spinner bait does just that..plus while using it you can discover the depth,,the kind of sttructure and it does catch fish..especially early..I 've been in some bigger tournaments when the winner used the white spinner bait to win the tournament..It does cover alot of area..and big and small fish will hit it..
When fish are playing hard to get I pitch a rubber worm along the cattails on the shoreline..I prefer water that is 3-5 feet deep as the big one get weary of shoreline herons and fisherman..They tend to bed at the end of points of secret island weedbeds..
