Help with spoons
#2
Most spoons do not require weight but must be fished in the strike zone, You can crank it in slowly as you should so it wobbles, Troll behind a downrigger and cannon ball or use a keel sinker, if you have to you can clip some split shots about 20 inches up the line. You can also use an inline or trolling sinker attached to your line then tie on a leader and your spoon. Also wire or monel line can be used if trolling. I gave you all these option cause you didn' t say what you' ll be fishing for or if in Fresh or Salt water.

Depends what you are fishing for.
For Salmon we use different weights of spoon depending on the flow of the water you are fishing. In real fast water we use weights up to an ounce with about 20 inchs of leader between the weight and spoon. We' re targeting the bottem of the river as this is where the Salmon are.
For trout no weights.
