Your First Trip
 

Just popped up from the Salt water thread. and thought it would be fun to talk about our first trip actual or planned. I am heading to Mansfield Hollow lake in Connecticut this Sunday, I' m off Fri - Sun. and rain today and tomorrow. . IT WAS STOCKED WITH NORTHERNS SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND SOME ARE GETTING NICE SIZE. hit the Cap lock again Anyway I got a 36" Pike early season last year, my personnel best and hope for a bigger one this year. I do better than most by using circle hooks and 30 lb mono leaders with big shinners. Pike shinners are hard to get here and expensive. Its hard to believe that Crappies can take down a 6" shinner. I loose a lot of them to Crappies. they come in with the tail sticking out of their mouth and some times not even hooked, just stuffed.

mine is tomarow morning up in the mountains chasing trout on the opening day..i cant wait...i wont sleep tonite..and gota be up at 4:30am!! i cant wait!!

Going to Lake Srdis in SE Oklahoma in two weeks for crappie and LM bass. Have a stripper trip planned for mid June at Texhoma and just bought another Fri night at an auction to raise money for our local school.
