The grease is getting hot right now
 

Had a chance to get on the water Friday evening and yesterday. Caught a few brim and some crappie. This crappie was the biggest of the day but we caught about 9 or 10 around this size. The bite was kinda slow but whenever you got one it was a good one.

Went up to Concordia Parish. Lake Concordia and out to Catahoula Parish for the crappie. Caughtseveral about that size but gavesome away to a fellow I knew.;)

nice catch..do ou have a limit on how manyyou can keep specks are beginning to bite good after that cold spell.....

yeah. we can keep 50 here in louisiana. no limit on the gill.:)

Motor,,,

I've been out some Motor..seems a bit early..Matt and I have caught about 33 in 2 outings and only 4 keepers. Ours have to be 10 inches where we fish at..The channel cats are biting though..;)Our minnows have gone up from 4.50 to 6.25 for a quarter pound...and the 1/4 pound seems to have gotten smaller..[:-]

My dad has a small farm pond that is full of bluegill about that size. Nothing like doing a saturday afternoon fishing trip with the kids and catching about 20 of them, then immediately fileting them and frying them up with homemade french fries and maybe some frog legs.

thats huge crappie! how do you prefer to prepare/cook/eat your crappie and bluegills??

I prefer to filet my crappie and dip them in Zatarrains Fish Fry. Then I fry them outside using mypropane cooker. Let'em sit until they float to the top. For extra crispy I let them float a little longer;). Man that's some good eating.:D
