What fish do you REFUSE to eat?

I know there are fish out there that some people absolutely refuse to eat. I've heard of people hating jack grennel (sp.) and even catfish. Are there any that aren't good to eat?<img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: What fish do you REFUSE to eat?

I will not eat any fish from the Ohio River or its tributaries. The reason is that my brother was getting pulled behind a boat on an innertube on the Ohio and scraped the top of his right foot on a stick in the water. It looked like road rash on the top of his foot. The next day his foot was so swollen from the infection it was gross. It looked like gangrene or something. It took over a month to completely heal with help from antibiotics. Since then I will not eat anything out of the Ohio. Any other fish I will try at least once.

I have not yet run into a peticular type of fish that I won't eat. I don't prefer to eat fish from the local private pond, they just don't taste that great. I prefer beer battered perch, and catfish. Next will be steamed trout, and then bass. Most of the lakes around here are pretty good water for good tasting fish. The rivers that feed them are mountain fed, so there are a lot of nutrients in the water.

P.S.- My fishing trip yesterday went good. I caught 10 perch (7 of them in the last half hour). The weather was horrible, but I had a good time, I just wish I could have stayed longer because the fish were really starting to bite. The temp. was about 20 deg, and the wind was a constant 30-45 mph all day long. Now I can't wait until there's some beer in the house so I can do my beer battered perch!

I love catfish and carp. But the fish that I will refuse to eat or even try is the dogfish, the freshwater kind. Ow yeah and shark I won't eat either. Dogfish they are nasty fish they are nasty looking, and I'm sure they taste the same. They was an asian family fishing along a river that I fish. They caught a dogfish, along with a stringer full( litarilly 5 times there limit) of 1/2 pound walleye, they were way to small to eat. Anyways they caught this dogfish and it was partially blue in color, it looked kind of like a burbot. I wouldn't eat burbot either.

I want to know why u guys won't eat carp. If u get the young one (under 3 pounds). They taste great smoked almost as good as some other fish. Old carp on the other hand have a strong taste. No good.
