jjoel, I fish plastic worms like this a lot. Just tie a 2/0 bass hook to the line and rig the worm as normal. I use this method alot when I am fishing weeds that are matted at the top of the water. Your worm will crawl up and down in the pockets. It drives the bass nuts !!!!! I love it when they come out of the water to hit the worms when it's on top of the weeds !!!!

jjoel, you've got the right idea and Sswpriz gave good advice.

Yes, the worm(or any plastic for that matter) will fall slower, so you have to be more patient.

I like to use a spinning reel with 8lb. line on it.I've also had more luck with the 'beefy' 4-5" grubs.

man.... a new spinning rod/reel would be NIIIIIICE. *sigh* i think i can put 8lb. on my reel and get a cheapo rod (i know u get what you pay for but it works)

jjoel. if you want some real excitement, use that method on a ultralight with 6# test. Think about it, how many bass you catch weigh that much ? I use a shimano reel with a decent ultralight rod, probably doesn't cost more that $50 for the whole setup ! the only drawback is if you get into some real heavy weed cover. that s why I have a medium action rod with a Shimano reel with 12# test.

well... im thinking like something 5'6 and 8 or 10lb test... i've had bad luck with 4 lb. and my gpa bad luck with 6 lb. so probably 8 is looking good about now.
