Northern Wisconsin Pike
howdy all, I am heading to Northern Wisconsin at the beginning of June for a bit of everything, but want to try my hand at Northern Pike. I read below on some great lures to use, but where should I be fishing? In the weeds, channels, holes, deep water? If anyone is familiar with the lake, I will be fishing Fence Lake near Minocqua.
thanks much,
Beej

RE: Northern Wisconsin Pike
I' ve never fished on fence lake, but I' ve been all over the Minocqua area fishing when I was younger (grew up in Chippewa Falls). I' ve always had great success fishing the weed beds. That is were the bait fish are, and thats normally were the feeding Northerns are. But of course you can catch them anywhere.
My 2 favorite lures are the " true believer" it has 3 different eyes to attatch line to so you can make it run really shallow or deeper. The other one is a silver spoon with a pork rind on the hook. Good luck!
