Default Spiderwire

Anyone use it? I' m thinking about trying it this year and was wondering if anyone has anything (good or bad) to say about it. What type of spiderwire do you recommend. Thanks for the feedback.

I started using spiderwire this past summer. Boy was I impressed I had no problems with it. It is very smooth and easy to work with. Great fishing line. I highly recomend it.

t 03, I use SW for specific purposes..

1. On a spinnin rod reel for skippin under docks. Very tough line. 40 lb

2. Deep weedline fishing good for xtra feel 40 lb

3. All of my ice fishing rods 2 lb

I have no trouble with this line and love it.. Beware you MUST use a polymer knot to tie.

Hey Basserman

I am from Montana so I mainly fish for trout. But what do you fish for with a 40 pound test?

Stuck, Use it for Bass, I use the braided line and there are 2 ratings. I' m at work and don' t remember the crossovers but i.e. 30 lb is equiv. line diameter to regular 8 lb. Need the 40 lb rating to bring bass out from under docks, reeds etc.

I used to use it. I like the no stretch and the ability to get a fish out of cover before it wraps you up, but I broke too many polls. I used them floating the Jamesriver in Hampton for strip bass and large mouth bass and broke four polls in one summer. I went back to stren and I think I will stick to mono.Ÿ

I do not like spiderwire,, if you have ceramic guides it will eat through them quickly! Fireline is the best of the superlines!

might want to keep a swivel on it if you are retrieving a lot. Sometimes spiderwire will twist up. I like fireline better it is not a braided line, and, for me, I don' t have as many problems with it. Both are great lines though.
