RE: Fishing line review...used for rubber worms..
Depends on the situation....
If I am fishing clear open water I use 100%10-12 Lb.flurocarbon.... Ifthe water is stained or heavy cover, I use #30Power Pro. If I am on a budget, I use 12 Lb. regular Stren. I've had HORRIBLE results with Trilene, I'd rather use the $4.99 for 1000yds of Shakesphere:) |

Oneshot...
questions..;) 1. you are using this line for Texas worm rig..correct? 2. Is your line snap swiveled , sliding bullet sinker , bullet sinker tooth picked pegged or split shot pegged?? or something different? I know why mine is twisting..I split shot my worm and the ribbon tail on my Gamblers twist the line..I don't like putting extra tackle near the worm but I do know a barrel swivel would take care of the twist. I just like fishing a worm as natural as possible...a nice slow swim into the hydrilla...then bump bump bump FISH ON;) |
RE: Fishing line review...used for rubber worms..
No problem Chuck, I think you will be happy. I am really impressed that I have not gotten a bad spool yet. I am fishing it with a texas rig and it is a sliding weight. It probably isnt your fault that the line is twisting. If it isnt (stren or trilene that is) let out of the back of a boat and ran across the lake or pond on idle, it will twist up. No problems with it yet, still going strong. I am getting two reel respooled tuesday with clear. Good luck andtight lines,

RE: Fishing line review...used for rubber worms..
i'm only using two lines pretty much for everything
berkley big game in green if you can break 20 pound bige game it'll sound like a 22 going off when it breaks, most times i'll straighten out a hook or break it, or the bait and power-pro braid the big game is stiff, memory is fair, but it is the lowest streching mono i have ever used, XL and stren clear blue easy are waaaaaaayyyy too strechey for my taste... unsure of the cost on the big game as far as breaking off fish, i've been using this line since the mid 90's broke off a few[&o], even got a bad spool once[:@] i like the idea behind flouro (low light transmission and low strech) but have yet to find one that will hold up, most break very easy kind of like sun damaged line[:@], always seems dry and brittle (even p-line[:'(]) would i recomend it, i'd have to know what was the most important item from above, for me its low strech and durability, big game offers that, but some say it is tooo stiff and has tooo much memory, my primary objective is to get bit and put fish in the boat;)and no playing around;) |
