Chuck, does the suffix come in colours? Since the stick marsh is tainted water, what colour is the best?
Also Kissemmee is tainted...Seige iswhat is mostly available..that color would be perfect in our tanic water...it's between smoke and clear..The line appears a little smaller in diameter than most monos..I can't break the 10 with my hand..it will cut into your skin..Usually when fishing with Trilene the line is roughed up by the bass's rough mouth after a couple of fish..I caught 5 on 10 pound Suffix last Sundayon my worm rod...3 were real good fish. After the 5 fish I inspected my line..there was zero abrasion..

I will be fishing a clear water lake also, but don't really want to keep changing my line if I don't have too. My brother and I have a 5 rod limit and changing line can be costly. Thanks.

Bobby
I use 5 rods as well..
A.One is a spinning rod which has 2 spools..one is 12 pound Suffix which I would use in Kissemmee and one with 20 pound Power Pro that I would use at Stick Marsh..I'd use this one for spinner baits.

The others are baitcasters for crank baits, jerkbaits, topwater, jigs, and rubber worms.

If you were goingto buy one line for Stick Marsh and Kissemmee..I'd go 14 pound Seige Suffix. This is only my opinion..

Now if it was me..I'd have at least one 20 pound Power Pro set up for Stick Marsh..I hear it's an area where you want to bring the fish quickly out of the structure..Don;t forget..if you use Power Pro.You MUST tie the braid on with a Palomar knot or even a2 pounder will get off...I use an Improved Clinch knot with the Suffix and so far it's been awesome.

Good luck ,
C7

Thanks for the advice Chuck, but I have one more question and why would you use 20# power-pro on one rod and not 20# suffix? Thanks in advance.

The power pro has zero memory and is absolutly gonna rip the fish out of the sticks without breaking or abbrasing at all, plus the power pro is only about a 8 or 10 lb diameter. The other reels would be great for the 12 lb sufix and it will flat out preform the rest of the lines on the market currently.

Bobby

20 pound Power Pro isequivalent to 8 pound diameter..20 pound Suffis is thick..The pressure is tough in Florida so you got to go skinny line..Power Pro covers that problem...and it is tough WHEN tied with a Palomar knot..It cast ok...

now..the 12 pound Suffix cast a mile..it's excellent..and you can use that long casting to keep from spooking fish..I would only use Power Pro in the Stick Marsh..like Oneshot said..to horse bass out of the timber. My son and I plan to fish Stick Marsh as well...Some friends told me my boat may be too small..The gators are huge there..and not to shy either.[:-]
PS..Just a reminder to still set that drag..An 8 pound bass with a tight drag can still pop ole Power Pro..It's not unbreakable..just tryto get Mrs. Hawg out the limbs before she goes to crazy on ya..

NOTE**** Most of the ramps are out.We are having a drought..Most lakes are 1/2 way dried up..[&o]I push my boat off the bank..

Amen to that..I appreciate you introducing me to Suffix Oneshot....I think that is the best for where I fish..I mainly fish water where the bottom is 3 feet thick of eel grass and hydrilla weeds.I'm concerned about the 10 when I get Mrs. Ten Pound..on..I'm finding my fish on rockbars with weedy slopes...flats..with thick weedy slope4s and points with thick weedy slopes..Icast long into the 10 foot weeds and SLOWLY finesse myself back to shallow water..been producing lots of fish that way..I plan to go to a 10 inch Gambler worm tomorrow.. I just got done painting all my bullet sinkers red and putting white eyes on them..I'll let you know how that works..

Alright there buddy, I plan on tryin a 10 in lizard if i can find one. One trick for lizards is to bite off the head because it looks more real with the bullet sinker on it that way. never tried painting the sinker though. Red shad I presume ? Maybe a red hook can throw in a extra bonus as well? Dont worry bout ms 10 lb, youll be fine, god willing, it will go over smooth. Thats how i look at fishing, if God wants me to catch a big fish he wouldnt have let that last one get off LOL
Good Luck to ya Chuck,
Brent

Yes sir..I'll let ya know how it works..I plan to bump a 6 inch red shad to have fun. and drag a 10 inch Christmas Tree Gambler..for the heck of it. I ran into a man who catches lots of BIG bass..I ask him how he does it..
He said,"I drift down the middle here with a 10 inch worm..I use a red bead in between the bulet sinker and the eye of the hook..I Carolina Rig it..I get about one hit per outing but they are always close to 10 pounds."[:-]

So you tie the braided line(power pro) right to the hook or use a mono leader? I don't like using a swivel. If you tie directly to the hook, does the braided line spook the fish you think? I haven't read all the post so Maybe its already been asked.
