People actually FISH for white perch? On Lake Erie we throw them to the Seagulls to snack on. Same for White Bass.
You are not whistle dixie we do!!:)Most of us throw bass back into the water as well as yellow perch, pickeral, and sunfish.. Also without a doubt we would be throwing back muskie and pike as to me it would be nothing more than another piceral..:D

I had never met someone that fished for them, it's kinda weird to me thats all. We had white perch and white bass. They are a nuisance, same goes for sheephead, though they are fun to catch :D

Try filleting them out and deep frying them or put them in a fish chowder. Anyway you cook them is great and most lakes here have a 25 fish limit on them. It seams wierd to me to keep bluegills and yellow perch as well. Most here like to keep those cold water fish..
