What size do you do the best on..??..

I'm ordering some Prince nymphs and some olive hare's ears and I thought I'd order up a few SJW's to try...

Well i know im fishing for those lunkers but i still have the smaller 10-15" fish hit my #2 and #4. I like them big then have a few different nymphs trailing it so that bigger heavier wire worm will drag them to bottom and they bounce on bottom therefore putting it right in front of the fishs face and there are three floating past them so its like a lil buffet. So my main sizes are #2 and #4 but if your targeting smaller fish i would go with a #6

Most of my nymphs I let the current take them down.. I will try the SJW when I get a chance.. Most of my nymphs are from a # 16 to a # 12.. as I try to keep them small like the ones they are eating..

yeah most of my other nymphs are #12-#16 but for some reason i have alot better luck with the bigger SJW then the smaller ones.

i too am a SJW fan!!! its definently one of my favorite flys...if not my favorite...if im nymphing, you can bet i got a SJW on there with the nymph! will be fishing the SJW tomarrow...

never tried your variety...mine are tied with almost like a pipe cleaner but without the wire...tied off at hte shank and eye of the hook with a little hanging in front of the eye and past the bend....i like red and brown.

Yah i know of that kind and am not a fan at all hahaha they get beaten up way to fast for me and arent heavy enough for the way i fish them, i will use them on lakes for stocked trout though but when im goin for monster browns, bows, and bulls and it just takes one to shred one of the kind your talkin about so thats why i prefer the all wire, more durable and like the way they fish.

Is that the Bow River in B.C.? If it is I fished it once dureing the koho run.
Nice fish, especially on a fly, I gave up fly fishing and use my spinner now but I do miss and respect the people that know and have time for the art. Good Job.

Nope its the bow river in alberta. I used to spin fish the bow all the time and rarely have any luck, i took up fly fishing and i dont even think about bringing my spin now, that river is hard to fish with spin tackle as compared to fly fishing.
