Rocky Filled day on the bow

Hit the bow on Thurs. Netted 11 fish 8 of which were rocky mt whitefish. All were really nice and fat. I did manage to catch my new personal worst rocky lol, my hand was longer then it:D Landed 3 bows 1 of which was worth a pic, also had a screwed up gill plate, not sure how it lost part of it(born without it maybe[&:] ). Had my first bow pike on as well, lil bugger bit me off[:@] . Then just after i hooked into a lunker rainbow, and for the first time in a long time, i was broken off:( the split second after it broke off, its jumped out of the water right in front of me just to rub it in was easily over 20". Caught majority of fish on of course the SJW, the rest were caught on a Hare's Ear.

Cool picts, TS...

I like the close up of the whitefish...Quite an overbite on that critter...

Reminds me of one of my old girlfriends...

She could sit in the living room and kiss me in the kitchen....

That first rainbow could pass for a brown, except for the spots on his tail..

HAHAHA yeah the whitefish are goofy lookin buggers.

As for the rainbow being mistaken for a brown...maybe down where u are but i know in that river they are VERY distinctive. The colors are way different, their spots have halo's around them and they have square tail as opposed to the forked tail bows have. Here is a brown from the same river.

Yeah, TS..That's a real pretty typical colored brown... The wild, streambred browns we have around here look like that...

Stocked, hatchery browns and the browns that spend most of thier lives in the lakes eating oily baitfish tend to be a lot more silvery, with fewer spots and less of that nice yellow color with big black and red spotsthat the wild stream browns have...

Congats on your fishing success! Those whitefish are hard to get up here with those soft mouths, but IMO they are some of the best eating freshwater fish there is besides brookies..
