That is an awsome video. Very well done! Those are some awsome pike. I only managed a few this year though the ice and they were tiny compared to those you guys caught!

Those are indeed some awesome 'gators, TS... Thanks for sharing...
I don't do much ice fishing for pike, but Seneca Lake, near my home seldom freezes in winter and provides good open water fishing all winter long...
Seneca is currently producing large NUMBERS of pike, but not many big ones... Most of the fish are from 24 to 30 inches, with the odd fish being 10 pounds or a little better... However on a decent morning , two guys can easily boat 30 to 40 fish in 3 or 4 hours, using artficials on light spinning gear...

Great job on your videos!
I do not think I would eat the pike, but I know I would of the trout though..Whitefish is some of the best eating freshwater fish there is IMO as well as brookies I might add..

Pike is DELICIOUS...!!...
Wonderful, whitetasty flaky meat... The only drawback is that the filets are FULL of " Y " shaped bones...
Once you learn to remove the strip of Y bones from northerns, they areone of the best tasting fish, IMHO... There are many websites on the net that show how to do it...
Also I can a lot of pike in pint jars...If you do that, it is not necessary to remove the Y bones, because the canning process softens the bones, just like canned salmon... Makes wonderful fish patties or chowder, and the canned fish keeps indefinitely...
I like to release the bigger fish...They are nearly always females, full of eggs.. Keep the 24" to 30" fish to eat....
I like to eat trout, also, but it does not freeze well, in my opinion...
I prefer to keep a fish or two for the table and release the rest... When I want another meal of trout, I just go FISHING again.......

Freeze them whole like you caught just caught them and wrap them in a wet paper towel before putting them in the freezer and they will keep good for you..I also like to wrap a cover of suran wrap over the paper towel before putting in the freezer.
