How often do you clean and oil your reels?
I am curious, because with my spinning reels all I do is rinse them off. With my Abu 6500 it is a different story. I rinse it off but I also re-oil it. I used to use the oil that came with the reel, but then I changed to rocket fuel, because it helps me cast farther.

I only fish freshwater..I clean as needed ...usually about once a year...after hunting season lets out..;)

I oil my saltwater reels ever winter, at least. I give them a good washdown after every trip out on the boat. My freshwater reels are different. They never really get "washed down" except for the occasional inadvertant dunk in the lake. I oil them every spring when i change the line.

I do mine every year when i'm putting my hunting gear up and brining out my boat again
